Weather Update and Snow Depth in Different Parts Of Kashmir
Mostly dry weather is expected in most parts of Jammu and Kashmir today.
One or two places may experience a brief rain/snow shower.

Over the next 7 days, night temperatures will decrease significantly with mostly dry weather.
Snow clearance of Srinagar-Leh highway currently in progress.
A joint rescue effort from Revenue, MED and Health department was done to rescue a pregnant patient from Kandiwara(Kokernag) in the early hours of 30.12.22.
Machines from Kokernag and Achabal were deployed for the rescue under the guidance of DC Anantnag and SDM Kokernag.
Tentative Snow Depth/Accumulation Details –
Bandipora Plain Areas : 2-5 Inches
Bandipora Upper Areas : 5-8 Inches
Sumbal : 3 Inches
Gurez/ Tulail: Upto 12 inches.
Razdan Pass : 1 – 1.5 feet.
Around 2 inches of snow was recorded at Shopian town during the night.
3 inches of snow fell during the night at Sankoo, Kargil.
Almost a foot of snow has been recorded at Sonamarg.

Drass = 6 inches
Padum = 3 inches
